Jeff Davis County law enforcement officials recently made three arrests related to drug possession and trafficking in two separate incidents. Officers recovered large quantities of illegal substances, reinforcing their commitment to tackling drug-related crimes in the area.

First Traffic Stop Uncovers Over 300 Ecstasy Tablets

On February 25, 2025, at approximately 12:24 p.m., a Jeff Davis County drug investigator conducted a routine traffic stop on Lumber City Highway. As the officer approached the vehicle, he detected a strong smell of marijuana, prompting a thorough search of the car.

During the search, officers found over 300 ecstasy tablets, marijuana, suspected psychedelic mushrooms, digital scales, and packaging materials. A field test confirmed that the ecstasy tablets contained methamphetamine.

The vehicle’s driver, Dennis Broody Jr., was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including:

  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug-related objects
  • Traffic violation

Additionally, Broody was already on probation, and the Department of Community Supervision has added a probation violation to his charges.

His passenger, Tiara Tillmon, was also arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug-related objects

Both individuals were taken into custody as authorities continued their investigation into the case.

On March 2, 2025, at around 2:14 a.m., a Jeff Davis K9 deputy stopped a vehicle for a routine check. As the deputy approached, he noticed the driver attempting to hide something near the gear shifter and center console.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a straw used for snorting drugs and digital scales. A further inspection revealed a stash of suspected cocaine hidden underneath the gear shifting panel.

The driver, Timothy Dwayne Stone, was immediately arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of drug-related objects

Stone is now in custody as authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
