Some games are certainly famous for their holiday representations, luring returning and new players to participate in the festivities in the real world, and in the virtual.

“Hitman 2”: The game added a holiday pack, which adds holiday-themed features to the game over the course of the month. Some updates include Christmas-themed levels, holiday cosmetic items and different playstyles.

“Hitman 2” is offered on PC, XBOX One and PS4, and was published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

“Team Fortress 2”: Smissmas is the annual update for TF2, originally called Australian Christmas. The update usually adds new winter cosmetic items, weapons and tool.

“Team Fortress 2” is offered on PC, XBOX 360 and PS3, and was published by Valve Corporation.

“World of Warcraft”: Feast of Winter’s Veil is a seven-day event imitating Christmas. There are holiday events, items, food and quests. Some of the quests offered are rescuing a stolen reindeer, or players can receive a gift on Dec. 25 for logging in.  

“World of Warcraft” is offered on PC and was published by Blizzard Entertainment.

“Grand Theft Auto 5 Online”: Players can get discount items, themed masks, snowballs and a free set of pajamas for logging in.

“GTA 5” is offered on Windows, XBOX One, XBOX 360, PS3 and PS4, and was published by Rockstar Games.

“The Elder Scrolls Online”: The New Life Festival runs from Dec. 13 to Jan. 2, allowing players to partake in new quests each day and exclusive winter-themed items.

“The Elder Scrolls” is offered on PC, PS4 and XBOX One, and was published by Bethesda.

“Battlefield 1”: In celebration of the 1914 Christmas truce in WWI, players on Battlefield hold a truce in game. Free dog tags and a complimentary battlepack are also given to players who log in before Dec. 29.
